FME is able to handle many different coordinate systems. In most cases, the coordinate system is detected from the selected source. In this case the Coordinate System box shows "Read from source" on imports and "Same as source" on exports.

If the Coordinate System box shows "Unknown" or is blank, then a coordinate system can be selected manually.
